Rebecca Baissari is a Lebanese environmental engineer and researcher specializing in marine conservation and the sociology of science. She serves as Project Manager at the Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF), where she leads initiatives to establish and support a network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) across Lebanon. With over 13 years of experience, she combines technical expertise in environmental engineering with academic research—holding a PhD in social sciences from CÉPED in Paris. Rebecca actively collaborates with NGOs, local communities, and government agencies to strengthen coastal protection efforts, and is recognized for her ability to bridge science and activism in defense of Lebanon’s marine biodiversity.
